Marlins Park Legal Drama Begins Today

Could Marlins’ Home Run Sculpture be Removed Under New Ownership?

Jeffrey Loria has reportedly agreed to sell the Miami Marlins to a group fronted by former New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter.  With the smoke clearing, more information about the new group and its plans are surfacing, including the possibility that the mechanical home run sculpture in left-center field could be removed.  Read more here.

Sources report that Miami Marlins president David Samson has said that there is a $1.6 billion “handshake agreement” for the MLB team.  Current owner Jeffrey Loria paid $158 million for the baseball team in 2002.  Read more here.  Loria gets skewered here and here.

Loria Shakes Up Marlins’ Baseball Operations
