On April 1, 2016, the Jackson Generals (Double-A, Southern League) announced they were changing their name to the “Hub City Hippos.” This was an April Fool’s joke, and not a particularly successful one in terms of the number of people who fell for it. Donated Land Near Jackson Ballpark Approved for Future Development
A donation of more than 10 acres of land near the Ballpark at Jackson, home of the Jackson Generals (Double-A, Southern League) has been approved by the City Council for future development of a possible convention center. Read more here.

Generals, D-Backs Agree to PDC
