Jackie Robinson Day 2018

Baseball across the spectrum celebrated Jackie Robinson Day on Sunday to mark the 71st anniversary of the day Jack Roosevelt Robinson became the first African-American in the major leagues when he played his first game as a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers. MLB teams honored the legacy of Robinson by displaying No. 42 on the back of every game jersey and a commemorative patch on caps and jersey sleeves.  Read more here.  Minor league teams honored Robinson as well, including the Daytona Torgugas (Single-A, Florida State League).  View photo gallery here.
