A 194-acre sports complex in Irvine (CA) (more than twice the size of Disneyland) is now open near the Great Park’s signature giant orange balloon. There are seven baseball fields (four with 90-foot baselines) and five softball fields. The championship fields for baseball and softball are state-of-the-art spectacular with underground locker rooms, indoor luxury boxes, broadcast booths and large video screens. Angels Talk with Irvine Property Developer
The Los Angeles Angels, frustrated by talks with Anaheim over plans to keep the team at Angel Stadium, have met with the developer of the Orange County Great Park property to see whether the construction of a new ballpark might be feasible on the Irvine site. Read more here.
