Not everyone living in the Dyersville (IA) area is happy about a plan to turn farmland surrounding the Field of Dreams movie site into a mega $38 million youth baseball tournament and training complex. Some worry that a boon would destroy a rural way of life and disrupt farming. The “Field of Dreams” movie site in Dyersville (IA) has been sold to a group of investors led by a couple from the Chicago area. The original asking price for the farm was $5.4 million. The group plans to build a premier baseball and softball tournament complex on the 193-acre site called “All-Star Ballpark Heaven.” Read more here.
Carroll Baseball Association in little Carroll, IA, has been approached by donors about installing a new scoreboard at historic Carroll Baseball Stadium.
