Bank Files Lawsuit to Recover $4.6 Million in Loans Used to Build Campbell’s Field
Citing missed payments, a bank that helped finance the development of Campbell’s Field, home of the indy pro Camden Riversharks (Atlantic League), is suing to recover $4.6 million in loans. CFDA Baseball Property Inc., which took out the loans, and the Riversharks ownership group, the guarantor of the loans, have been named in the suit. Read more here and here. Kosher Hot Dog Vendor Loses Suit Against Mets
A judge tossed out a contract-based lawsuit last week brought by Kosher Sports, Inc. (KCI) against the New York Mets for prohibiting them from selling kosher hot dogs and other items from four different carts on Friday nights and Saturdays — the Jewish Sabbath. Read more here. Yount, Uecker Team Up to Bring ‘Lakeshore Chinooks’ to Mequon (WI)
Milwaukee Brewers Hall of Famer Robin Yount and Brewers announcer Bob “Mr. Baseball” Uecker have joined with majority owner Jim Kacmarcik and nine others to launch the summer collegiate Northwoods League’s expansion Lakeshore Chinooks. The team will begin play next season at a new $3.4 million Kapco Park on the campus of Concordia University in Mequon (WI). Continue reading
Old Driller Stadium Gets New Life
The Tulsa County Public Facilities Authority at Expo Square approved a one-year lease of old Driller Stadium, former home for the Double-A Tulsa Drillers, to RBI, Inc. for a training and and holding baseball tournaments. Maui Under New Ownership
It was announced on Saturday that the Golden Baseball League’s Na Koa Ikaika Maui baseball team has been acquired by Hawaii Baseball, LLC, an ownership group made of Harris Tulchin, Leroy Pettigrew, and Bob Young.
