A’s Float Gondola System to Transport Fans to Games

The Oakland A’s are exploring using a gondola ski lift to transport fans from downtown to the Port of Oakland’s Howard Terminal, where the team is thinking of building a new ballpark.  Read more here and here.

Rising Sea Levels an Issue for Howard Terminal Site?

The Howard Terminal is still getting a strong look for a location for the new Oakland A’s ballpark, but Team President Dave Kaval reportedly mentioned twice on Saturday that rising sea levels (and transportation concerns) would have to be taken into consideration as site analysis continues.  Read more here.

A’s Majority Owner Receptive to Howard Terminal Site for New Ballpark?

Oakland A's LogoOakland Mayor Libby Schaaf’s push for a possible ballpark at Howard Terminal north of Jack London Square hasn’t won over A’s managing partner Lew Wolff.  On the other hand, we’re told the mayor is getting a more receptive ear from the person whose voice counts most — the team’s majority stakeholder, John Fisher.  Read more here.

Despite Wolff Rejection, Group Presses Ahead with Waterfront Ballpark Plan

Oakland A's LogoOakland A’s owner Lew Wolff on Wednesday once again rejected a ballpark at Howard Terminal, but that isn’t stopping the Oakland Waterfront Ballpark, LLC from moving ahead to obtain permits and regulatory approval for a baseball stadium on the 50-acre site in hopes that Wolff or a future team owner will build it.  Read more here.
