Summerlin (NV) developer Howard Hughes Corp. has laid out plans for a 14-story, 267-room hotel just south of the new ballpark currently under construction for the soon-to-be-renamed Las Vegas 51s (Triple-A, Pacific Coast League). The 4.3-acre project, on Pavilion Center Drive across from the company’s open-air Downtown Summerlin mall, would include a restaurant, rooftop bar and spa. Read more and see photo here. In two weeks, the Fort Wayne (IN) Plan Commission will decide whether to approve the primary development plan for a new 136-room, seven-story Hampton Inn & Suites hotel downtown near Parkview Field, home of the Fort Wayne TinCaps (Single-A, Midwest League), and Grand Wayne Center. The plan calls for ground-floor retail and a rooftop bar overlooking the baseball field. Read more here.

The company that owns the chain of Hard Rock Cafes wants to open a hotel in Hartford’s Downtown North neighborhood with the entertainment venue as a key attraction. The hotel — Hard Rock Hartford — would be built as part of the next phase of the $400 million Downtown North project, which includes a minor league baseball stadium for the Hartford Yard Goats (Double-A, Eastern League).
