Baseball is still alive at the MiLB-departed Hoover Met. The top 150 Major League Baseball prospects for the East Coast will be coming to Hoover (AL) this summer, as East Coast Pro, a non-profit run by MLB scouts, will stage its annual scouting event at the Hoover Met Complex Aug. 1 through 4, 2018. Hoover Met Keeping SEC Tournament
The SEC Baseball Tournament is staying in Hoover (AL). The SEC’s athletic directors authorized commissioner Greg Sankey to negotiate with Hoover for the 2017 tournament and moving forward “for a time to be determined” on Friday. Read more here. Thanks to Joe DeLeonard for the link.

City Aims to Keep SEC Tournament at Hoover Met
The five-year contract between the city of Hoover (AL) and the SEC for hosting the SEC baseball tournament at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium ends after this year’s tournament. With past success, recent facility upgrades, and a new $70-million events center going in next door, Hoover hopes to knock out competing bidders New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville and Jacksonville.
