Capitol Broadcasting Company Inc. has purchased the Holly Springs Salamanders (Summer Collegiate, Coastal Plain League). The Salamanders, which were owned by league co-founder Jerry Pettit, join the Durham Bulls (Triple-A, International League) as CBC-owned baseball properties. Read more here.

Bad weather has delayed some construction of the North Main Athletic Complex, including the new 1,800-seat baseball stadium, but town officials say it will be ready for an April soccer tournament and the inaugural Holly Springs Salamanders (Summer Collegiate, Coastal Plain League) baseball game in late May. The Wake County Board of Commissioners on Monday agreed to award $1 million to Holly Springs (NC) to help fund their $19 million athletic complex, which includes a new baseball stadium for the summer collegiate Holly Springs Salamanders (Coastal Plain League). The team is scheduled to begin play in the new ballpark this coming season. Read more here.
Holly Springs (NC) on Tuesday re-pitched its $19 million athletic complex plan to the Wake County (NC) Board of Commissioners, because the body underwent a change in representation after the most recent election. The town is hoping for $1 million from the county to help pay for the complex, which includes an 1,800-seat ballpark for the summer collegiate Holly Springs Salamanders (Coastal Plain League).
