The Greensboro Grasshoppers’ (Single-A, South Atlantic League) downtown ballpark will keep its First National Bank Field name through at least the 2026 season. The Hoppers and FNB Corp. agreed to a five-year extension of their existing naming rights deal, which runs through 2021. Read more here.

A group of Triad developers plan to build the first major downtown office project in two decades at the entrance of the Greensboro Grasshoppers’ (Single-A, South Atlantic League) First National Bank Field. Greensboro Baseball LLC is withdrawing an appeal it filed with the State of North Carolina’s Property Tax Commission in July over the Guilford County Tax Department’s claim that Downtown Greensboro Renaissance LLC (DGR) owed about $90,000 for years of back taxes on items in the Greensboro Grasshoppers baseball stadium.
