A group of Triad developers plan to build the first major downtown office project in two decades at the entrance of the Greensboro Grasshoppers’ (Single-A, South Atlantic League) First National Bank Field. A statue of the Single-A Greensboro Grasshoppers bat dog mascot Miss Babe Ruth was stolen from the team’s ballpark. Babe was bolted down in four inches of concrete, so it wasn’t a simple grab and run. Read more here. UPDATED: The statue has been recovered from a 25-year-old knucklehead.
