New Suitors Lining Up in Joliet
The Northern League’s Joliet (IL) Jackhammers remain in financial trouble, and there is no a shortage of parties (at least four) who would like to place a new team in beautiful Silver Cross Field, if the Jackhammers are booted. One of those suitors is Joe Stefani, the owner of the summer collegiate Rockford (IL) Foresters from the little known Great Plains League that began play in 2010. Continue reading
Foresters Debut in Front of 635
The Rockford (IL) Foresters from the upstart summer collegiate Great Plains League opened their inaugural season at home on Friday night in front of 635 fans. The team plays at Marinelli Field, the former home of the indy pro Rockford RiverHawks, which now play at Road Ranger Stadium in nearby Loves Park (IL). Read more here.

Foresters Announce Lady Axes Dance Team

Inaugural Great Plains League to ‘Showcase’ Eight Teams?
Information about the new summer collegiate Great Plains Baseball League has been sketchy at best, but the league’s Rockford Foresters are reporting that seven other teams will begin play in the league this season, including the Southland Vikings, Illinois Jayhawks, Steel City Aces, Cal Sag Channel Chats, Chicago Zephyrs, Indiana Breakers, and Homestead Ranchers. New Rockford Baseball Team to be Called the ‘Rockford Foresters’
PRESS RELEASE – Rockford’s newest baseball team officially announced today that it’s team will be named the Rockford Foresters. The name, which was submitted as part of a name the team competition that was conducted in November 2009, features a lumberjack mascot and sports the main colors green, white, gray and black.
