Butler BlueSox Leaving Prospect League, Future Uncertain

More information about the future of the Butler BlueSox, as well as the future name of Kelly Automotive Park, could be revealed at a special meeting next week.  Read more here.  In a news release issued earlier this month, Butler BlueSox Baseball Organization, the team’s ownership group, announced the club would be leaving the Prospect League (Summer Collegiate) after 10 seasons.  The more economical Great Lakes League (Summer Collegiate) was mentioned as a possible landing spot for the franchise.  Read more here.

Ironmen Sold, Relocated to Saginaw

The Lorain County Ironmen franchise has been sold and moved to Saginaw (MI). The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League team will be known as the Saginaw Sugar Beets.  Read more and watch news report here.

Summer Collegiate Ball Returns to McBride Stadium

Hamilton Joes Explore Building New Downtown Ballpark

Holland Millers Join Start-Up Michigan Summer Collegiate League

Holland Michigan SealThe Holland Millers have joined the start-up Michigan Summer Collegiate Baseball League.  The team will play at Boeve Baseball Stadium at Hope College.  The Millers join the Muskegon Clippers, Grand Rapids, and three teams from the Detroit area.  The league will be affiliated with the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League and could eventually become a northern division of the circuit.  Read more here.
