Former AirHogs Ballpark to Become Venue for Major League Cricket

Major League Cricket has leased a 5,400-seat minor league baseball stadium in Grand Prairie, Texas, and will turn the venue into a cricket stadium for the league’s inaugural 2022 season.  Read more here.  The ballpark was the home of the now-defunct Texas/Grand Prairie AirHogs (Independent Professional, American Association).  Read more here.

Synthetic Turf Installed at QuikTrip Park

PRESS RELEASE – The Grand Prairie AirHogs announced today that the new synthetic turf field has been completely installed at QuikTrip Park. Hellas Sports Construction began the $1.1 million project to replace the natural grass in November and completed the installation last week.

AirHogs Hire New GM

PRESS RELEASE – The Grand Prairie AirHogs have named John Bilbow the team’s new general manager. Bilbow comes to the AirHogs after three successful years as the owner/operator of two local restaurants. Before that, he served as the Fort Worth Cats’ vice president and general manager from 2007-2009.

Boxing Bolsters Ballpark Revenue

Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi, TX and QuickTrip Ballpark in Grand Prarie, TX both hosted boxing events with crowds of approximately 5,000.  Admission to each venue was free, but boxing fans could updgrade to reserved seats for $5 or $10.  Read more here.
