Today marks the launch of the three-team developmental United Shore Professional Baseball League at the new 2,000-seat, $15-million Jimmy John’s Field. But according to owner Andy Appleby, former owner of the Fort Wayne Wizards (Single-A, Midwest League), this is just the beginning. He envisions expanding the USPBL to 20 teams in 10 Midwest stadiums over the next decade. By 2017, he wants at least four to six teams playing, and 10 to 12 teams by 2020. Read more here.

A Drone View of the New Jimmy John’s Field
Rochester sports entrepreneur Andy Appleby and his General Sports and Entertainment have released aerial drone footage of $12-million, 2,000-seat Jimmy John’s Field currently under construction in Utica (MI). Start-Up USPBL Unveils Team Names, Logos
The names and logos have been unveiled for the three teams that will take up residence at $12-million Jimmy John’s Field being built in Utica (MI) by Rochester-based General Sports and Entertainment. The United Shore Baseball League’s Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers, Eastside Diamond Hoppers and Utica Unicorns will begin play in 2016. Read more and view photo here. Watch unveiling here.
