Fort Marcy Park in Santa Fe (NM) has its issues, including no clubhouse or storage, and the city has watering and grass-cutting restrictions for the field, but the indy pro Santa Fe Fuego (Pecos League) are happy to call the ballpark home for the coming third season. Read more here.

The second-year Pecos League has announced that the expansion Santa Fe Mountain Lions will begin play in 2012. A final agreement to use Fort Marcy Park is apparently still pending. The Sante Fe (NM) City Council has postponed a decision on allowing beer sales at Fort Marcy Park, as requested by the expansion Santa Fe Mountain Lions from the fledgling indy pro Pecos League. If approved, fans would be limited to three drinks, sales would stop after the sixth inning, and security would be placed at the entrance and exit of a fenced-in beer garden. Read more here.
The Public Works Committee in Santa Fe (NM) has given the thumbs down to beer sales at Fort Marcy Park. No matter your feelings about the viability of the second-year indy pro Pecos League, which is targeting Santa Fe for expansion in 2012, the rejection of beer sales was a result of overblown, knee-jerk reactions. Despite the reality that the first-year Pecos League has not come close to locking in a lease deal to use Fort Marcy Park in Santa Fe (NM) for a 2012 expansion franchise, it hasn’t stopped the league from naming the club the Santa Fe Zozobras, and unveiling team branding an uniforms. The Pecos League is eyeballing Santa Fe (NM) as a 2012 expansion city. The only problem is that city officials won’t return phone calls left by league commissioner Andrew Dunn.
