FEMA to Withhold Dollars Over Kokomo Ballpark Dispute
FEMA will withhold all hazard mitigation grants and assistance to the state of Indiana over the city of Kokomo’s continued construction of a contested baseball stadium, the agency informed state officials Wednesday. Kokomo Fights Back with Lawsuit
The City of Kokomo (IN) filed a lawsuit Monday against Indiana Department of Homeland Security Executive Director David Kane and the IDHS in an effort to seek “declarative and injunctive relief” pertaining to the IDHS’ order to stop construction on the city’s baseball stadium project. FEMA Denies Kokomo’s Ballpark Re-Design Plans

FEMA Tells Kokomo to Stop Building Ballpark
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Indiana Department of Homeland Security reportedly sent letters within the last month to the City of Kokomo, telling them to stop construction on the new $11.5 million baseball stadium because the site is in a flood-prone area of town along the Wildcat River. Ballpark Doors Opened to FEMA
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has opened a federal Disaster Recovery Center at Provident Bank Park, home of the indy pro Rockland Boulders (Can-Am League), to assist businsses and residents who sustained property damage during Tropical Storm Irene.
