Nueces County (TX) has filed suit against the former Coastal Bend Thunder (now McAllen Thunder) from the United League (now North American League) for more than $142,000 in unpaid rent, utilities, and stadium cleanup and repair costs associated with the team’s lease of Fairgrounds Field. No big suprise here, but today the Nueces County Commissioners formally terminated the county’s lease with the United League’s Coastal Bend (Robstown, TX) Thunder. The Thunder owed more than $28,000 in back rent for using Fairgrounds Field. Read more here. Thanks to Eddie Utley for the link.
The United League’s Coastal Bend Thunder have been locked out of Fairgrounds Field in Robstown (TX). The Nueces County Commissioners took action against the Thunder on Wednesday, because the team and the league had failed to respond to repeated attempts to recover $24,000 in unpaid rent.
