No Baseball at Fair Grounds Field in 2012

Captains Sold, Will Move to Laredo

PRESS RELEASE – Southern Independent Baseball, the owners of the Shreveport-Bossier Captains, have announced that the team has been purchased by Laredo Baseball Investors, LLC, who are moving the team to Laredo, Texas, to play the 2012 American Association season as the Laredo Lemurs. Captains Owners Exploring League Options

No surprise here, but the owners of the indy pro Shreveport-Bossier Captains, Grand Prairie AirHogs, and Amarillo Sox (American Association), are exploring options to place the Captains in another league.  The Captains are averaging under 1,300 per game, and they need to cut costs.  The Texas Collegiate League makes the most financial sense.  The Captains still have three years Continue reading
