Vintage Baseball Comes to Historic Engel Stadium
A vintage, Civil War-era baseball double-header was played at historic Engel Stadium in Chattanooga (TN) on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15. The Oak Hill Travellers faced the Franklin Farriers, and the Highland Rim Distillers took on the Nashville Maroons. Watch news report here.

Happy Birthday, Engel Stadium!
It was 82-years ago Sunday that historic Engel Stadium in Chattanooga (TN) opened its doors, and it’s had quite a storied past. It served as the home of the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts (Southern League) until the team moved into BellSouth Park (now AT&T Field) in 2000. Engel is still standing strong, so make sure you stop by for a visit the next time you’re in town. Read more here.

Efforts are underway to preserve historic Engel Stadium, the former home of the Chattanooga Lookouts. The stadium was built in 1930 and has fallen into disrepair. Notable baseball heroes who have played at the old park include Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Hank Aaron, Satchel Paige, Willie Mays, and Harmon Killebrew. Read more here.
