Outlaws Out for 2012

The indy pro Chico Outlaws (North American League) confirmed on Wednesday they will not be playing at Chico State’s Nettleton Stadium or anywhere else in 2012.  Read more here.

Chico Outlaws to Return?

The indy pro Chico Outlaws (North American League) have submitted a proposed lease extension to return to Nettleton Stadium on the campus of Chico State for the 2012 season.  The ball is now in the Outlaws’ court, as the university has reviewed and sent back the proposal.  Read more here and here.  Thanks to John Cerone for the story.

Chico Outlaws Likely Out for 2012

It appears that the indy pro Chico Outlaws (North American League) will not return to Nettleton Stadium for the 2012 season.  The league says that the chances of the team returning to Nettleton are “not very good,” and Chico State doesn’t seem overly interested in negotiating a new lease deal at this time under the current circumstances.  Read more here.

Correction: No New Lease Agreement for Chico Outlaws

The press release posted on our site on Oct. 28 regarding an extension of the lease between the Chico Outlaws and Chico State was erroneously posted.  It has since been pulled.  We are still trying to determine how this happened.  It is a duplicate of our accurate post on Jan. 28, prior to the 2011 season.  According to an official from Chico State on Friday (11/4), “The Chico Outlaws baseball team does not have a new lease agreement with Chico State.”

Outlaws Front Office Put On Waivers

The indy pro Chico Outlaws (North American League) appear to be on their way out.  Uncertainty over the team’s future has prompted the league to remove/terminate/layoff Mike Marshall, president of baseball operations and general manager, and his wife Mary, assistant general manager.  Stadium lease renewal negotiations have not yet been initiated between the Outlaws and Chico State University.  Read more here.

NAL Chief: No Team Has Folded

Indy pro North American League commissioner Kevin Outcult tried to dispel rumors on Wednesday that the Na Koa Ikaika Maui and Lake County Fielders franchises have folded.  There has also been speculation that the 2011 season will be the last for the Chico Outlaws in the expansive league.  Read more here.

Outlaws Finalize Lease Extension

PRESS RELEASE – The Chico Outlaws of the new North American League announced today that they have concluded an extension with Chico State University for the team to continue to play at Nettleton Stadium on the college campus. Chico Outlaws Live to Play Another Day at Nettleton

Outlaws No Match for Beloved Heat

Chico Outlaws on the Brink?

Once the darling market of the defunct indy pro Western Baseball League and now the Golden Baseball League, Chico (CA) might not be hosting indy pro ball next season. The Chico Outlaws are at the end of a six year lease agreement with Chico State University for the use of Nettleton Stadium, and the team has outstanding contractual obligations that will stifle lease renewal negotiations if they are not satisfied.  Read more here.

Marshall Named President and General Manager of Outlaws

PRESS RELEASE – The Chico Outlaws, members of the independent professional Golden Baseball League, announced today that Mike Marshall has been named as their new President and General Manager.
