PRESS RELEASE – After nearly three weeks of fan input and voting, the Trenton Thunder’s bat dog of the future has a name. The Golden Retriever puppy, who is the son of team bat dog, Derby, and grandson of original bat dog, Chase, will be named, Rookie.

Thunder’s Bat Dog to Retire, Birthday and Retirement Party Scheduled For July 5

Chase, the beloved bat dog for the Double-A Trenton Thunder (Eastern League), will officially retire on July 5.  The 13-year-old Golden Retriever has been fetching bats at Thunder games since 2002.
