The summer collegiate Junction City Brigade have joined the newly formed Great Plains League – not to be confused with the Great Plains Baseball League turned Midwest Collegiate League.

New Baseball Stadium Proposed for Kansas City Area

A $12-million baseball stadium is being proposed as part of a 40-unit seniors housing project in the Martin City area of Kansas City (MO).  The ballpark would house Barnstormers Baseball, an organization founded by Karl Carswell in 1996 to train and develop young baseball players.  Read more here.  There is no indication that the stadium would also serve as the home for a summer collegiate or minor league team, but

Bringing Baseball Back to Junction City

Junction City (KS) commissioner Cecil Aska is among a number of local folks working to bring a summer collegiate baseball team back to Junction City in time for the 2013 season.  Read more here.  As you might recall, the independent summer collegiate Junction City (KS) Generals played four seasons at historic Rathert Stadium before shutting down before the 2011 season.

The independent summer collegiate Junction City (KS) Generals have announced that they will not play in 2011.  The club hopes to return in 2012.  The Generals played four seasons at historic Rathert Stadium before going on hiatus.
