Centennial Field Gets Playing Surface Makeover

The Single-A Vermont Lake Monsters (New York-Penn League) are spending nearly $125,000 to improve the playing surface at historic Centennial Field.  The Massachusetts firm Sports Turf Specialties has been hired by the Lake Monsters to handle the field renovation duties.  Read more here.  Thanks to John Cerone for the link.

Study Reveals Millions Needed to Renovate Centennial

A study commissioned by the University of Vermont and Single-A Vermont (Burlington) Lake Monsters concludes that historic Centennial Field would need between $6.6 million and $9.2 million in repairs and improvements to bring it up to minor league baseball standards.  Read more here.  Thanks to John Cerone for the article.

Centennial Awaits Results of Study, UVM Will Not Fund Project

The future of Centennial Field, home of the Single-A Vermont (Burlington) Lake Monsters, hinges on a $50k study that is currently underway to determine the soundness of the facility.  Whether the study shows that Centennial can be renovated or must be replaced, the University of Vermont will not pony up cash for the project.  Read more here.  Thanks to John Cerone for the article.

Centennial, Lake Monsters Await Findings of Engineering Study

A $50k  engineering study to determine the future of Centennial Field, home of the Single-A Vermont Lake Monsters, is underway.  To keep the club in Burlington, Centennial will have to be renovated, if the park is structurally sound enough based on the study, or a new park will have to be built.  We would like to see the facility renovated similar to Centene Stadium in Great Falls (MT).
