Demolition of Candlestick Park Nearly Complete
Candlestick Park, the former home of the San Francisco Giants, is nearly gone. Only a few sections of the 55-year-old stadium remain standing as a months-long demolition is underway, making room for a new mall and housing units. Saying Goodbye to Candlestick Park
Candlestick Park, the home of the San Francisco Giants from 1960-99, will likely stage its last major athletic event on Monday night when the San Francisco 49ers play their final regular-season home game against the Atlanta Falcons. Next season, the 49ers will christen a new state-of-the-art stadium in Santa Clara (CA), spelling Candlestick’s end. Read more here.
