Authority Seeking Bids to Demolish Campbell’s Field

Campbell’s Field, former home of the Camden Riversharks (Independent Professional, Atlantic League) is expected to face the wrecking ball after 17 years.  The 6,700-seat park cost $35 million to build.  Camden County Improvement Authority is looking for bids on the demolition.  Read more here.

Luxury Apartment Development on Tap for Camden Waterfront

Deal Approved: Campbell’s Field to be Demolished and Replaced by Three Athletic Fields

Camden’s troubled baseball stadium, once hailed a new beginning for the city’s waterfront, will be torn down and replaced with three Rutgers University athletic fields under a deal approved by the university’s board Thursday.  Read more here.

Campbell’s Field Will Reportedly Be Demolished

Camden, Atlantic City Could Return to Atlantic League

Loans Forgiven, Officials Still Seeking Tenant for Empty Campbell’s Field

Camden Riversharks LogoCamden County (NJ) officials have been working since the Camden Riverhsharks (Independent Professional, Atlantic League) departure to bring a minor league team affiliated with Major League Baseball to Campbell’s Field, but until they do, the county will be responsible for maintaining the 6,400-seat stadium.  Read more here.

Bank Files Lawsuit to Recover $4.6 Million in Loans Used to Build Campbell’s Field

T-Rex Visits Campbell’s Field, Will Throw Out First Pitch

A 15-foot, animated T-Rex dinosaur will greet fans and throw out the first pitch at tonight’s indy pro Camden Riversharks (Atlantic League) game at Campbell’s Field.  The purpose is to promote Field Station: Dinosaurs, an interactive outdoor Jurassic learning destination outside NYC.  Field Station’s slogan: “9 Minutes from Manhattan. 90 Million Years Back in Time.”  Read more and view photo here.
