Bulls to be ‘Lollygaggers’ for One Night

In honor of one of sport’s cinema’s most iconic scenes, the Durham Bulls (Triple-A, International League) will rebrand for one night only as the Durham Lollygaggers.  On June 14th, 31 years after the release of the Bull Durham movie, the team will take the field in specially-designed jerseys and hats to commemorate a scene still mentioned across pop culture today.  Read more here.

Tourists to Celebrate 30th Anniversary of Bull Durham Movie

PRESS RELEASE – This Saturday, June 16, 2018 marks the 30th anniversary of the release of the award-winning baseball film Bull Durham. In the movie, Kevin Costner‘s character, Crash Davis, breaks the Minor League Home Run record at McCormick Field as a member of the Asheville Tourists.

The Bull City Summer Project

The 2013 season of the Triple-A Durham Bulls (International League) was the 25th anniversary of the hit movie Bull Durham.  To commemorate the movie and the historic franchise, the blog Bull City Summer chronicled all 72 home games at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.  Jordan G. Bulls Unveil New ‘Bull Durham’ Racing Mascots

The Triple-A Durham Bulls (International League) unveiled on Opening Day a trio of racing mascots in the likeness of the characters played by actors Kevin Costner, Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon in the movie “Bull Durham.”  Read more and view photo here.
