Ballpark Design Changes Brings Fayetteville’s Project Back on Budget

A set of proposed design changes to Fayetteville’s baseball stadium has brought the $33 million project back on budget, officials said Thursday.  The city’s Baseball Committee reviewed the changes with members of the architect, Populous, and the construction manager, Barton Malow Co. of Charlotte.  Read more here.

Fayetteville Continues to Whittle Down New Ballpark Costs to Meet Budget Target

The preliminary cost of Fayetteville’s (NC) baseball stadium has been reduced to $34.7 million from an initial estimate of $39 million. But the target is $33 million, based on the City Council’s budget for the minor league ballpark downtown.  Read more here.

Fayetteville Revamps Ballpark Financing Plan

Because the state’s Local Government Commission won’t let Fayetteville (NC) finance bond debt for 30 years as first sought to pay for a new baseball stadium, city officials had to revamp how they intend to retire $31 million they will borrow through what are called limited-obligation bonds.  Read more here.

Fayetteville Picks Developer, Begins Contract Negotiations

Firm Recommended to Build Fayetteville Ballpark

Fayetteville Forced to Readvertise for Ballpark Bids

buis-creek-astrosThe city of Fayetteville (NC) will try again to solicit proposals for a company to oversee the baseball stadium’s construction.  The city plans to hire what’s called a “construction manager at risk,” which is similar to a general contractor, but one that must guarantee the project will be on budget.  Read more here.
