Fayetteville Delays Release of Final Price Tag for Ballpark

During meeting on Feb. 21, members of the City Council said the guaranteed maximum price of Fayetteville’s new baseball stadium would be revealed during the Baseball Committee meeting on March 7.  The release of the final price tag has now been pushed out until March 19.  Read more here.

Ballpark Signing Ceremony Held in Fayetteville

During a signing ceremony on Wednesday afternoon, the Fayetteville (NC) City Council members and county commissioners signed on the dotted line to an interlocal agreement that gives both a big financial stake in the baseball stadium being built downtown.  Read more here.

Post Ballpark Groundbreaking, Fayetteville Works to Finalize Surrounding Development Contract

Durham-based Prince Charles Holdings is spending $65 million in private investment in the area surrounding Fayetteville’s developing baseball stadium.  The city’s baseball committee met Wednesday evening in closed session for more than an hour to discuss the second phase of agreements with the investment group.  Read more and view rendering here.

Fayetteville Breaks Ground on New Ballpark

Construction on Fayetteville’s $33 million minor league baseball stadium started symbolically Monday with about two dozen key stakeholders using gold-colored shovels to dig into land between the Prince Charles Hotel and the Amtrak station on Hay Street.  Read more here.

A Pre-Total Eclipse Groundbreaking for Fayetteville Ballpark

The city and the Houston Astros will break ground on a $31 million baseball stadium on Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. That’s the same day as the total eclipse that will cross the Southeast between 2 and 3 p.m. Since the ceremony will take place earlier, there’s no worry about the event being called on account of darkness.  Read more here.
