UCLA Fighting Ruling on Baseball Stadium

UCLA LogoUCLA has gone to court to overturn a decision that could force it to give up Jackie Robinson Stadium on land leased from the U.S. veterans agency.  In court papers, UCLA asked to be heard by the court before the order is enforced in February.  The university also asked permission to appeal the court’s ruling.  UCLA has had its stadium on the property for nearly 50 years.  Read more here.

After Nearly 50 Years, Bruins Play at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Potential Jeopardy

UCLA LogoIn a case brought by the ACLU, a federal judge ruled Thursday that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs misused its sprawling West Los Angeles campus by leasing land for a hotel laundry, a film studio storage lot, and UCLA’s Jackie Robinson Stadium, where the Bruins baseball team has played for nearly 50 years.  The judge stopped short of ordering the tenants off the property.  Read more here.

UCLA Honors Legendary Alum Jackie Robinson with Mural

UCLA Adds Seats to Jackie Robinson Stadium

The capacity of Jackie Robinson Stadium, home of the UCLA Bruins for the past three decades, will rise from 1,240 to 1,820, after 290 chairback seats with cupholders are installed above each dugout, courtesy of the Gifford Foundation.  Read more and view photos here.
