Star Wars Nights Across the Minor League Baseball Universe
Every team out there seems to be holding Star Wars Night, so it has become a bit of a yawner when it comes to uniqueness, but the Brooklyn Cyclones (Single-A, New-York Penn League) have taken things to a different dimension:
“Imitation lightsabers, cosplay robes, hot dogs, and the chicken dance were all folded into a deeply bizarre spectacle as the Cyclones chose to eschew the original film scripts and instead tell a story that runs afoul of Star Wars canon.” Read more and watch videos here.

The Single-A Brooklyn Cyclones (New York-Penn League) celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Seinfield television series Saturday night. Players took batting practice in puffy pirate shirts. A fan reeled in a slice of marble rye bread with a fishing rod from the suite level. George Costanza announced the third inning. KeySpan Park Renamed MCU Park
The New York-Penn League’s Brooklyn Cyclones have a new naming rights partner for their Coney Island ballpark. KeySpan Park is now MCU Park. The broad marketing deal with Municipal Credit Union provides MCU with signage throughout the stadium, branded giveaway nights, and information tables on the concourse. The financial details of the 11-year naming rights agreement were not disclosed. Read more here.
Cyclones’ Ballpark to Get New Name
The New York-Penn League’s Brooklyn Cyclones have agreed to end their ballpark naming rights deal that was slated to last until 2020. Because KeySpan Energy Corp. was acquired by National Grid PLC, the KeySpan name no longer exists. A new deal is expected to be announced soon. Read more here.
