Williamsport Council Approves Contracts for Ballpark Renovations

The Williamsport (PA) City Council on Thursday approved construction contracts of $1.1 million for improvements to Bowman Field, home of the Williamsport Crosscutters (Single-A, New York-Penn League).  This will help prep the ballpark for a visit by the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals, which will play a game in front of Little League World Series participants on Aug. 20.  Read more here.

Minor Makeover for Bowman Field

Williamsport Crosscutters LogoOn Thursday night, the Williamsport (PA) City Council authorized a contract for $191,000 to begin making improvements to Bowman Field, home of the Williamsport Crosscutters (Single-A, New York-Penn League), paid for by bond financing.  Changes coming include removal of the bleachers along the right-field side, replacing fencing with wrought iron, and expanding the concourse along the third-base line.  Read more and view photos here.

Mayor Negotiates $150K Naming Rights Deal for Bowman Field

Outlaws Close Book on Outdoor Hockey in Williamsport

Rink Ready, Warmth Challenging Ice at Bowman Field

Construction Begins on Hockey Rink at Bowman Field, Season Begins Oct. 24

Celebrating the Arrival of Outdoor Hockey at Bowman Field

Crosscutters Satisfied with Hockey Arrangement

The Single-A Williamsport Crosscutters (New York-Penn League) raised concerns when it was announced that an outdoor pro hockey team was coming to Bowman Field.  The baseball team’s biggest issue was making sure the field would be returned to normal after the hockey season, and that’s been resolved.  The matter of beer sales remains outstanding, as the Crosscutters hold the state liquor license at the Continue reading

Upgrades Approved, New Name Possible for Bowman Field

Historic Ballpark’s Naming Rights Up for Grabs
