Bismarck Municipal Ballpark, home of the Bismarck Larks (Summer Collegiate, Northwoods League), will have a new, sure-to-be popular summertime feature. Construction of a 2,500 square foot deck along the right field line will be ready for its 2019 debut later this month. Mandan Veterans Memorial Ballpark ballpark built in the 1950s is scheduled for a much-needed renovation in July. The $2.5 million renovation project will include 500 additional seats, upgrades to the grandstand wings, dugout, canopy and press box. The project is expected to be completed by spring 2019. Read more here. We can’t help but to continue to speculate that Mandan (ND) could become a cross-town rival/travel partner for the Bismarck Larks (Summer Collegiate, Northwoods League).

It’s a stretch from a 20,000-population standpoint, and Legion ball appears to be the primary focus, but the far-flung Northwoods circuit does have a huge footprint gap to fill.
