Bismarck Larks Add Two Teams to Play in 2020: Bismarck Bull Moose, Mandan Flickertails

PRESS RELEASE – The Bismarck Larks have made big changes to their 2020 season. The biggest change is welcoming two other Northwoods League teams to the community, the Flickertails and Bull Moose. To eliminate travel, the three teams will each play a 48-game schedule against each other for a total of 72 games at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark, home of Dakota Community Bank & Trust Field.

Larks Add New Deck

Bismarck Municipal Ballpark, home of the Bismarck Larks (Summer Collegiate, Northwoods League), will have a new, sure-to-be popular summertime feature.  Construction of a 2,500 square foot deck along the right field line will be ready for its 2019 debut later this month.  The team and the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District teamed to make the project happen.  Construction began this week.  Read more here.  View press release and renderings here.

Mandan Ballpark Renovations Still on Track for July Start

Mandan Veterans Memorial Ballpark ballpark built in the 1950s is scheduled for a much-needed renovation in July.  The $2.5 million renovation project will include 500 additional seats, upgrades to the grandstand wings, dugout, canopy and press box.  The project is expected to be completed by spring 2019.  Read more here.  We can’t help but to continue to speculate that Mandan (ND) could become a cross-town rival/travel partner for the Bismarck Larks (Summer Collegiate, Northwoods League).

Mandan (ND) Ballpark Renovations on Track

Mandan Veteran’s Memorial Ballpark in Mandan (ND), across the Missouri River from Bismarck (ND), will undergo a $2.5 million renovation project beginning next summer.  To date, $1.5 million has already been raised.  Read more here.  As we pondered back in September, could Mandan become a future cross-river rival for the Bismarck Larks (Summer Collegiate, Northwoods League)?  It’s a stretch from a 20,000-population standpoint, and Legion ball appears to be the primary focus, but the far-flung Northwoods circuit does have a huge footprint gap to fill.

Larks Make Strong Inaugural Home Debut

The Bismarck Larks (Summer Collegiate, Northwoods League) made their home debut in front of 1,690 fans at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark.  Over the four-game inaugural home stand that wrapped up Friday night, the Larks averaged 1,481 fans per game.  View photos here.

Bismarck Team to Unveil Name on October 13

PRESS RELEASE – The name is finally here. After over 500 submissions and almost 1,000 votes for the Final Five names, the Bismarck Baseball team is set to announce the new team name at a fan event on Thursday, October 13 at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark.

Mandan (ND) Ballpark Getting Upgrades

A $2.5 million renovation project pitched for the Mandan Memorial Ballpark in Mandan (ND) across the Missouri River from Bismarck (ND), garnered a commitment of at least $500,000 from the Mandan Park Board on Monday.  Read more here.  With a population of 20,000, could Mandan become a cross-river rival for the new Northwoods League (Summer Collegiate) franchise coming to Bismarck next season?  The far-flung circuit does have a huge footprint gap to fill.

Northwoods League Closing In on Bismarck (ND) Expansion

PRESS RELEASE – The Northwoods League has agreed to the terms offered by the Bismarck, ND Parks and Recreation District for an “Agreement for Use” allowing for League play beginning with the 2017 season at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark.

Bismarck Ballpark Renovation Update

Municipal Stadium in Bismarck (ND) is undergoing a major renovation, and it looks like the project will be wrapping up soon.
