Joplin in Preliminary Talks with Frontier League

City officials are keeping Joplin (MO) ready for a pitch from professional baseball even though the Joplin Blasters (Independent Professional, American Association) struck out.  Mayor Mike Seibert this week mentioned the Frontier League (Independent Professional) in a City Council discussion about whether to install artificial turf on the infield of Joe Becker Stadium.  Read more here.

Frontier League Bylaws Force MKE Sports Out of Aviators Camp

Rockford Aviators Primary LogoFor those who didn’t hear this earlier, MKE Sports & Entertainment was forced to terminate its managed service contract with the Rockford Aviators (Indy Pro, Frontier League), after Frontier League Commissioner Bill Lee ruled that the contract violated the league bylaws because the owner of MKE, Michael Zimmerman, owns two teams in the summer collegiate Prospect League.  Read more here.

Frontier League in Good Shape, More Indy Pro Evolution on Horizon?

After a turbulent off season for the independent professional ranks, Frontier League commissioner Bill Lee has proclaimed his league is on solid ground.  He also believes more changes are in store for the indy pro circuits during the next off season.  Launched in 1993, the Frontier League is America’s longest living modern day independent professional baseball league.   Read more here.

Still Waiting on Kalamazoo

‘Spaceman’ Lands in Brockton for Hot Stove Banquet

City Leaders to Intervene to Secure Frontier League Affiliation
