Tennessee State lawmakers on Monday passed legislation allowing hard liquor sales at the new Sulphur Dell ballpark under construction for the Triple-A Nashville Sounds (Pacific Coast League). The new stadium is set to open a year from now in April 2015, and it appears fans will be able to celebrate with a nice stiff drink. Read more here.
New York City police officers have been patrolling the parking lot at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, to hand out $25 citations to tailgaters drinking in public. Drinking alcohol in public has long been banned in New York City and its surrounding areas, but until recently, the law was rarely enforced inside local team stadium parking lots. Read more here.
