Charlotte’s BB&T Ballpark to Host New Beer Festival
The inaugural Charlotte Beerfest will be held Sept. 20 at BB&T Ballpark, the new uptown home of the Triple-A Charlotte Knights (International League). On Thursday, team President Dan Rajkowski and representatives from N.C. craft-brewers The Old Mecklenburg Brewery and Foothills Brewing Co. joined local media personality Jon Wilson to reveal plans for the festival. Dash Break Single-Game Attendance Record
A record crowd of 8,184 showed up at BB&T Ballpark in Winston-Salem (NC) on the 4th of July, as the Single-A Winston-Salem Dash (Carolina League) were shut out 5-0 by the Wilmington Blue Rocks. Friday night’s crowd surpassed the previous record of 7,576, set last year on Independence Day. Read more here.

Tearjerker Friday Night at BB&T Ballpark
Charlotte (NC) resident Philip Elmore, stationed in Germany for his service in the Navy, surprised his 8-year-old daughter at BB&T Ballpark on Friday. Donning a Triple-A Charlotte Knights (International League) uniform and catcher’s gear, he took the field without his daughter, Isabella, recognizing him. Construction is well underway on BB&T Ballpark, the new uptown Charlotte (NC) home for the Triple-A Charlotte Knights (International League), which is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2014 season.
