Andy Helwig has been named as the new voice of the Batavia Muckdogs (Single-A, New York-Penn League). Helwig is a Canisius College and Canisius High School graduate and will be interning this summer with the Muckdogs after spending last summer interning with the Buffalo Bisons (Triple-A, International League), where he hosted a postgame show on ESPN1520 AM. Muckdogs Hire Seasoned Leader to Run Team

GCBC Issues Statement on Muckdogs
Genessee County Baseball Club (GCBC), the nonprofit that has owned the Batavia Muckdogs (Single-A, New York-Penn League, issued a statement last week announcing that the franchise has been transferred to the league. Read statement here. If the NYPL Muckdogs do not return to Dwyer Stadium in 2018, expect the summer collegiate PGCBL and NYCBL to be all over it.

Naomi Silver, chief executive and chief operating officer of the Rochester Red Wings (Triple-A, International League), said the sale of the Batavia Muckdogs (Single-A, New York-Penn League) fell through because the prospective ownership group was not granted permission from teams and leagues that have territorial rights in Waldorf (MD).
