Proposed MLB Team in Nashville Gets a Name

Paying homage to the Negro Leagues, the local group trying to bring Major League Baseball to Nashville (TN), Music City Baseball LLC made up of businessman John Loar, former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, and former MLB pitcher and front office executive Dave Stewart, have announced the name for the group’s proposed MLB team — the Nashville Stars.  Read more here.

Preparing for Baseball’s Possible Return to Olympics in 2020

IOC Approves New Sports for 2020 Olympics, Baseball Hopes for Return to Lineup

Baseball Vying to Make Olympic Return

Olympics LogoLeaders of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will meet this week to decide which sport they will drop from the Summer Olympic Games in 2020.  IOC executives will then meet in Russia in May to decide which sport to add.  Baseball and softball are vying to get back in the international sports competition, after the sports were voted out in 2005 for the 2012 London Games.  Read more here.

Florida League Adds Winter Haven Loggerheads
