Atlantic City (NJ) is putting Bader Field back on the auction block as it continues to look for potential revenue sources to help close a $100 million budget deficit and fend off a state takeover. In addition to the old airport, the location is home of The Sandcastle, the former home of the Atlantic City Surf (Independent Professional, Atlantic League/Can-Am League). Aviators Ballpark Hitting the Auction Block
Starting March 25th Aviators Stadium will be on the auction block. Northside Community Bank of Gurnee is putting the Stadium up for sale. The bank foreclosed on the ballpark in February of 2012 when the former owners were unable to make payments. Bidding will take place online and run through April 2. The bidding is expected to start at $1.5 million. Read more and watch news report here.

Newark Bears Hold Not-So-Successful Liquidation Sale
The now-defunct indy pro Newark Bears (Can-Am League) held a liquidation sale today at Riverfront Stadium in Newark (NJ). As one attendee reported to us, owner Doug Spiel apparently stopped the auction after a mere 3 1/2 hours and said the remaining available items (only 10 percent sold, we hear) would be sold in lots for more money. Rumors were already out there that the indy pro Newark Bears would not be returning for the 2014 season. Astrodome Yard Sale and Auction Today
Thousands of people lined up Saturday for the chance to take home a piece of the iconic but dilapidated Houston Astrodome. Voters will decide Tuesday whether to approve a referendum authorizing up to $217 million in bonds to turn the stadium into a giant convention center and exhibition space. If the referendum fails, officials say the facility will likely be razed. Read more here.
