Boulton Given Green Light to Search for Atlantic City Team Owner

The Atlantic City (NJ) City Council has authorized Frank Boulton, the former owner of the Atlantic City Surf (Independent Professional, Can-Am League/Atlantic League) to find an ownership group willing to bring minor league baseball back to Surf Stadium.  Read more here.

Camden, Atlantic City Could Return to Atlantic League

Atlantic City Tees Up ‘The Sandcastle’ for Future Team

Atlantic City SurfSurf Stadium, aka “The Sandcastle,” former home of the Atlantic City Surf (Independent Professional, Can-Am League/Atlantic League), is undergoing continuous renovations as Atlantic City (NJ) plans for it’s future.  City officials hope to bring a baseball team back in the coming years.  Read more and view photos here.

Two Bidders for Atlantic City’s Bader Field

Atlantic City SurfTwo companies made bids for Bader Field on Thursday.  Legend Properties, based in Cherry Hill, and Bader Field Development LLC, located in Long Branch, were reportedly the only two to offer money for the former municipal airport adjacent to The Sandcastle, former home of the Atlantic City Surf (Independent Professional, Can-Am League/Atlantic League).  Read more and view map here.  Thanks to John Cerone for the link.

Bader Field Back on the Auction Block

Four Development Proposals for Atlantic City’s Bader Field

More Talk of Baseball Returning to Atlantic City

Atlantic City SurfWe remain hopeful The Sandcastle may again be the home to a professional baseball team.  Last Thursday, Mario Perrucci, former general manager of the Atlantic City Surf, was part of a group that included Atlantic League owners Frank Boulton and Tom Senter that met with Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian to discuss the idea of putting another team in the abandoned ballpark.  Read more here.
