Tourists Unveil New Uniforms at Highlands Brewing

DeWines Buy Tourists
The Ohio-based DeWine family headed by former U.S. Senator Mike DeWine (R-OH) has purchased the Asheville Tourists. Brian DeWine, one of the Senator’s sons, will serve as the team’s new president. The younger DeWine has experience in this arena, including a four-year stint working for the Carolina Mudcats. The sale must still be approved by the South Atlantic League. Read more here and here.

Negotiations to Sell Asheville Tourists Ongoing
Detroit-based Palace Sports and Entertainment, the group that currently owns the Single-A Asheville Tourists, is in talks with several groups to sell the team. A few years ago, the franchise fetched $6.5 million. Read more here.
