Work to repair numerous sinkholes at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock (AR), home of the Arkansas Travelers (Double-A, Texas League), is to begin today after the City Council’s approval Tuesday to waive competitive bidding and allocate $375,000 toward fixing the Arkansas Travelers’ home field. The Arkansas Travelers (Double-A, Texas League) have unveiled their tenth anniversary logo for the 2016 season to mark the team’s tenth season at Dickey-Stephens Park. After historic Ray Winder Field closed its gates in September of 2006, the Travs moved into their new park in April 2007. Read press release here.

Baseball America reports in an article about the branding of the new El Paso team that the Double-A Arkansas Travelers (Texas League) will unveil a new logo on Wednesday. A photo posted on the Travelers Facebook page on Oct. 14 appears to confirm this news. Sadly, Shelly the Horse mascot sponsored by Shell Oil retired back in August. Watch Shelly say goodbye here.

Fans in Little Rock (AR) lined up on Saturday at 79-year-old Ray Winder Field, former home of the Double-A Arkansas Travelers, to snag a free pair of old wooden seats that were being given away by the city.
