Name of New Amarillo Team to be Revealed on Wednesday
A press conference has been scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the downtown offices of the former Amarillo Dillas to announce the name of the new American Association team that will make Potter County Memorial Stadium home starting the 2011 season. Potter County Approves Dollars for Ballpark Improvements
The Potter County (TX) Commissioners have approved $30,000 for a few ballpark improvements at Potter County Memorial Stadium (aka Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa). The improvements include renovating the ticket booths and relocating fencing. Read more here.

New Tenant Approved in Amarillo
As expected, Southern Independent Baseball led by Scott Berry and Potter County finalized a lease contract today that will bring an American Association team to Potter County Memorial Stadium, former home of the United League’s Amarillo Dillas. Amarillo to Become American Association Host City
Scott Berry and his group Southern Independent Baseball have reportedly reached an agreement with Potter County (TX) to bring an American Association team to Amarillo. The deal could be finalized as soon as Monday, November 8. Read more here. We expect the Shreveport-Bossier (LA) Captains to relocate with new branding on deck. Don’t expect Fair Grounds Field in Shreveport to sit empty.

Group Unveils Vision for Downtown Amarillo
Downtown Amarillo, Inc. unveiled on Wednesday three conceptual master plan maps for redeveloping downtown Amarillo. The plans are visions for the future that are expected to facilitate discussion. Nothing is written in stone, and no funding is in place. Each of the plans include a multi-use ballpark. Read more here.
