Dittrich Ponders Double-A Ball’s Return to Amarillo

New Amarillo Team to Pull Plug on ‘Gold Sox’ Name?

The new American Association team in Amarillo may be forced to ditch the “Gold Sox” name, after discussions with the summer collegiate Marysville (CA) Gold Sox, which leases the trademarked name from the City of Marysville.  We raised this issue several days ago.  The silver (gold) lining here is that the issue is being dealt with now before the new team spent thousands on a branding package, website, and merchandise.  Read more here.

Amarillo Gold Sox?

The new name for the American Association team in Amarillo (TX) is reportedly going to be the Amarillo Gold Sox.  However, we see a potential problem for the new team, as the “Gold Sox” mark is owned by the City of Marysville (CA) for the summer collegiate Marysville (formerly Yuba-Sutter) Gold Sox.
