Aberdeen (MD) City Council members hope to have an agreement in place “sooner rather than later” for management of Ripken Stadium, home of the Aberdeen IronBirds (Single-A, New York-Penn League), for this year and beyond, the city’s mayor said. Having failed to reach an agreement to manage the city-owned Ripken Stadium, the city of Aberdeen (MD) in June notified Tufton LLC it intends to go back to the agreement in place when the stadium opened in 2002, giving the city control over all non-baseball events. Read more here.
