Author and professional “baseball hawk” Zack Hample has written a new book called The Baseball: Stunts, Scandals, and Secrets Beneath the Stitches, where he shares antecdotes about baseballs, talks about the baseball manufacturing process, and provides tips on snagging balls. Chip Rossetti from Evansville (IN) is reportedly producing a documentary on the Frontier League going back to the league’s inaugural season in 1993. Rossetti says he has worked on eight short films, and has apparently received three Telly awards and five videographer awards for production to his credit. He hopes to complete his work in time for the 20th anniversary of the league in 2012. Read more here.
A new minor league baseball documentary produced and directed by Boise (ID) filmmaker Tony Okun has been released. The film called Time in the Minors – Two Players, One Dream follows life and times of two minor league players, including a struggling veteran and a first round draft pick with a $1 million signing bonus.
