Kannapolis Approves New Downtown Ballpark

The Kannapolis City Council unanimously approved a $52 million, 5,000-capacity minor league baseball stadium in downtown Monday night.  The stadium is expected to be ready for the 2020 season.  Read more here.

    Grant it the stadium that Kannapolis has been playing at is well past its prime and a new stadium will increase attendance during the honeymoon phase, but not sure what it will be like a few years after.

    A $450K lease for a SAL team that has been drawing 1K/game? Yikes …
