Marshall University’s baseball team has finished its 12th season of playing home games at Charleston’s (WV) Appalachian Power Park — 50 miles from the UM campus in Huntington. Others were played in Beckley and a series this past season was moved to the bare-bones diamond at the YMCA Kennedy Center, 6 miles northeast of the MU campus. Read more here.

I’ve attended several games at Marshall’s Kennedy Center field. Decent playing surface, everything else is absolutely horrible. Certainly one of the worst in Division 1 baseball. Marshall deserves much, much better … but they’ve been discussing a new field near campus for years and years.
