PRESS RELEASE – In celebration of the once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse to hit Oregon, the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes are hosting an EclipseFest at Volcanoes Stadium to coincide with home baseball series August 18-21.
With Salem, Oregon sitting in the path of totality, the ballpark will be the ideal destination on the I-5 corridor for both local, regional, national and international visitors. In addition to the uniqueness of this viewing opportunity, the Volcanoes baseball team will play a morning game that will feature the first ever “eclipse delay” in baseball history. Come be a part of baseball history!
The brewfest will feature a wide variety of local beer, wine, cider and spirits for your tasting pleasure and participants will receive a commemorative tasting glass. There will be local food vendors providing delicious fair and an EclipseFest Kidzone available throughout the weekend.
A postgame fireworks show will follow the conclusion of the baseball games on Friday, Aug 18th and Saturday, Aug 19th.
Spectators attending the marquee eclipse baseball game will receive commemorative eclipse safety glasses to wear during the delay of the baseball game.
